black art - no fear, here is nothing about witchcraft or black magic! you can at best bewitch
yourself from the beauty and diversity of our stamps and seals.
(schwarze kunst or black art is since the middle ages the name of the handicraft of the printers and typesetters).
in our catalog are more than 3500 different motives. starting with letters, zodiac signs, animals,
music instruments, ex-libris, monograms, guild symbols, ships, up to symbols from the
stone age, the celts, the Indians, and and…
from all these illustrations we have manufactured metal stamps, coated them with copper
and afterwards put them on a beechwood bloc of 20 mm height.
these metal stamps are practically indestructible; they are more finer worked than rubber
stamps; they are used with a ordinary ink-pad and you also can seal with them.
and now have a lot of fun with browse! and even if you should not buy anything, enjoy simply the
icons and symbols, which the human culture has begotten.

the sizes indicated in the catalog are approx. - measures. often there are stamps in
different sizes, which are not necessarily specified. inquire they simply by email.
the crudity of the illustrations in the catalog is due to the fact that we reduced the
pictures, in order to accelerate proceedings.

apart from a great selection of alphabets (mostly from art nouveau),
we offer two variants of monograms to you.
with the ornate variant only in each case one monogram for both combinations exists. for example eu is also ue.
in the catalog you please always search under the first letter in the alphabet.
all stamps, which you see in our catalog, can be used with a stamp-pad and with sealing wax.
we use and sell sealing wax of the company Gutenberg. the use of genuine shellac
as well as other selected raw materials guarantees best adhesive strength.
for stamping is suffices a well soaked stamp-pad on water basis. Better
however is a stamp-pad on oil base.
the stamp should be held as free of grease as possible and dry (after printing, clean
it with a dry cloth). if there is a strong contamination on it, you can also clean it with
steel wool.
